Seek To Know God’s Will In Order To Build Your Life In Alignment With It

IN the night vision that I began to relate in the Introduction, I also saw myself.  After observing the people who were coming into heaven, my attention was then drawn to my right hand where I found I was holding a small brown seed about three millimetres in diameter.  I knew exactly what it was: it was the fruit of my life.  Perhaps in comparison to many others who had brought nothing, I had at least brought something.  Nevertheless, in my heart I was deeply disappointed with it.  After all the struggles I had gone through for the gospel, and after all that I thought I had done for the Lord in my life, here I was standing with something seemingly so insignificant in my hand.

As I kept looking at it, the consciousness came to me that I could not go before God like this, and that God’s will had not yet reached its fulfilment in my life.  So in the vision, I decided to return to my earthly life in order to accomplish whatever I was meant to do in the time I had left.

In the days and months that followed, I kept asking: “Lord, what is it that I am meant to do?  What is it that I came back for?”  I was thinking in terms of task and responsibility, ministry, numbers, influence and what I thought I could give.

Then an answer came which changed my perspective...
