09 Opening the Way for the Manifestation

‘Only let us live up to what we have already attained’ (Phil. 3:16)

The Need For Consent
‘Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them…  “Here I am, I have come to do your will”’ (Heb. 10:9)

After we have been given the revelation of God’s will, it is then our part to respond to it, whether by accepting it or by rejecting it.  This is ours to decide.  Accepting it means coming into agreement with it and thereby coming into alignment with God’s will.  This is then sealed by giving our consent for him to carry out his plan on earth as it is in heaven.  Giving our consent is the act of sealing the agreement.  It indicates that we have chosen God’s will above our own, and have come into agreement for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, bringing an end to the reign of whatever issue that needs to be overcome in order for his will to be done, and so opening the door to the kingdom of God in our life.  In contrast to this, not coming into agreement and giving our consent means walking away from God’s purpose for our life or for a particular area in our life.
Giving our consent does not only mean that we have given ‘the green light’ to God’s will, but it also means saying ‘no’ to our own will, and saying ‘no’ to Satan and his forces.  Giving our consent gives God the right to act in the situation, and takes away from Satan any power that he may be exercising over us.
When someone wants to make a change to their property, then, before they proceed with the development plans, they need the consent of the appropriate authorities.  If they do not have this consent then the work cannot proceed, despite the fact that plans have been drawn up, materials have been provided and the workforce is ready.
Similarly, God cannot proceed to implement his will unless he has our consent on the matter.
